Junya on video

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I have uploaded three videos with Junya if anyone is interested :)

They are taken at Mako-sensei’s place today when we visited her with Junya. Mako works as a nurse and is one of Takako’s former students from when she taught English. She now works at the hospital where Junya was born and that is where we met her. She also kindly wrote Junya’s name with a brush on Junya’s meimeisho after he was born!

Here are links to the videos:

And finally a few images I also took at Mako’s place. The little girl is Mako’s nephew and her name is Yuzuna.

The scientific creation story

Friday, August 29th, 2008

The biggest science project ever, the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is well under way. For those who don’t know what LHC is, it is a particle collider built by CERN, it has been several decades under way, and has united tens of thousands of scientists from more than 85 countries. The aim: to try and discover some of the most elusive elementary particles. Particles that have been predicted by scientific theories, but never seen yet.

The LHC hasn’t been switched on yet; it is still being assembled. Initially they said they would be ready to do the preliminary test runs this summer, and we are now getting closer to autumn. So, while we are waiting for the first beams to travel around inside the superfluid helium cooled superconducting magnets, and the first collision data to appear on the LHC website, why not watch this video by Brian Cox. He gives us a rundown of what the LHC will do, and tells us The most beautiful creation storyi!

I just realised that over the last more than 15 years I have been consuming large quantitites of highly addictive psychoactive substances!

Or in other words, I have been drinking

Coffee :D

Congratulations to Erowid on the new look!

Take a leak at this…

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Awesome… Someone has started a Wiki to host leaked government documents! Some users claim this could be the next big thing development in journalism.

The site is called WikiLeaks and is hosted in Sweden (where else?)
One article which I found rather alarming was this, about the US euipment used in Iraq.
