Photos from trip to Mito
Our recent trip to Ibaraki, and in particular to the city of Mito, was very successful! This Hato-bus trip was great fun, with good guides and a packed and eventful program. First they took us to Mount Tsukuba (筑波山) where there were several plum trees in bloom, even though it is still early in the season. Next stop was some shopping at the Tsukamoto shop and a nice lunch which was much better than what the buildings looked like! Lunch was followed by a visit to a nearby strawberry farm where we could enjoy all-you-can-eat strawberries! Can you imagine a better dessert?? Finally we ended up in Kairakuen, the main attraction on the trip. A very beautiful park, which I could easily have spent more time in. The trees (mostly plum and cherry trees) were not really blooming yet, but the afternoon sun still provided plenty of beautiful light for taking scenic photos. The old houses which you could walk around in were well worth paying the extra couple of hundred of yens for.
