Dag 18 / Day 18
Junya received very fine presents from Vinie and Knud in Denmark!
Today we had more visitors (bringing more money), and then in the afternoon a package and a letter arrived from Denmark! Both of them for Junya!! The package was from Vinie and Knud and inside was a big box of Liquorice! Or, so Thor thought, because the box said Gajol. But luckily for Junya, there was no liquorice inside, but a very fine set of baby clothes! In blue and brown, perfect for the coming autumn. He can wear it when he turns three months, but maybe we will make him try out the little shirt before that.
There was also a letter from Lisbeth and from Spar Lolland, offering little Junya a Boerneopsparing. Junya didn’t know what it was, so I thought I would explain it to him. But then I remembered that the only words he understands are “milk”, “mom”, “poo poo” and “sleep”. So, I decided to wait a few months with that, and in the meantime make the decision for him.
In the afternoon we also had a visit by a local health officer. She came to our house carrying a precision scale so Junya could be properly measure. So I can now say, with confidence, that Junya IS growing, because he now weighs 3780 grams.
If you plot that into a graph showing the typical upper and lower bounds for the baby’s weight after a certain number of months, he is exactly on average! This is what it looked like when they measured him.
